First story of the First trilogy

The Light on the Desk

Chapter 1 - I Want to Build Something That Truly Works

It’s Monday morning, and the first thing Mark sees when he turns on his computer are the usual emails: “The system’s down.” “I can’t upload the order.” “Production data doesn’t match the warehouse figures.”
He already knows the day will be a race. As his coffee cools on the desk, he jumps between tickets, calls, and urgent requests. Every department wants something new: “Can you integrate an app for reports?” “We need a dashboard for sales.” “The CFO wants a cost analysis.”
Everyone sees him as the one who “makes things work,” but no one truly understands how hard it is to keep together a patchwork of outdated systems that refuse to speak to each other.

He’s tried to improve things — he’s done demos, asked for quotes, talked to vendors. But every time, it ends the same way: solutions too complex, too expensive, or too rigid for a company like his. He knows they need a single, modern, flexible platform — something that simplifies instead of adding complications. Yet whenever he proposes something, he meets the CFO’s suspicious glance (“How much does it cost?”) and the CEO’s distracted one (“Do we really need it?”). So Mark often gives up. He does what he can, patches what breaks, and hopes production doesn’t collapse again.

At night, though, he can’t stop thinking about it. He doesn’t want to be seen as “the IT guy,” but as someone who creates value. He wants the courage to say, “Enough patches. We need real change.” Because deep down, he knows that without modern tools, the company will fall behind — and he’ll fall with it.

“I don’t want to spend my days fixing problems anymore. I want to build something that truly works.”

Chapter 2 - The Genialcloud Effect

By now, Mark had learned to live with chaos. Every day was the same endless loop of requests, issues, and improvised fixes — Excel sheets, disconnected software, data that do not arrive just when they were needed most. His colleagues respected him, but only as “the guy who solves problems.” Inside, he was exhausted.

One evening, after yet another production emergency and another meeting where no one really understood how complex his job was, he stayed late at the office. A small light blinked on his monitor — a demo of Genialcloud he had postponed for weeks. Out of curiosity, he clicked. In just a few minutes, he saw something he’d never seen before: a system that brought order to the chaos. A single platform, everything connected — no servers to update, no software to install.

In that moment, he realized he didn’t have to “survive” technology: he could make it work “for” him. From that day on, everything changed.

The “Genialcloud Effect” works because it turns a jungle of disconnected systems into a single, intelligent ecosystem. With one access point, every piece of data — from ERP, To CRM, to Analytics and AI and even to IoT — is connected, consistent, and available in real time. It’s like moving from “patching holes” to “orchestrating” the entire company from one simple, cloud-based control room. The power of a global enterprise system: without the cost, the rigidity, or the slow pace.

“One platform, Countless solutions. A thousand complexities, gone.”

Chapter 3 - I’m Making a Difference

Mark now arrives at the office a little earlier than usual. He brews his coffee, sets it on the desk, and opens his laptop. The CEO’s Genialcloud dashboard loads instantly : clear charts, green indicators, no red alerts. The system communicates with production, the warehouse, accounting, even the shop-floor sensors. Users can access the data they need directly in their spreadsheets or emails. Everything is synchronized.

For the first time in years, he’s not “putting out fires.” He can plan, look ahead, and think about how to improve. The users are happy, the executives are listening, and when the CEO mentions him in a meeting — “We reached this efficiency thanks to Mark and the new Genialcloud platform” — he feels a kind of gratitude he hasn’t felt in years.

Now his days flow more easily. He’s rediscovered his passion for technology, that spark of curiosity he thought was gone. When he comes home in the evening, his wife notices he’s calmer, less tense. He laughs again. He doesn’t check his emails after dinner. He knows everything’s under control, that people at work trust him.

And as he looks at his tidy desk, he thinks: “I’m not just keeping things running anymore. I’m helping them grow.”

“This is what I’ve been looking for all along — to work well, to be heard, and to feel that I’m making a difference.”
